With a clear lead of more than 400 votes, the Chandigarh Golf Club elected Gurinder Singh Sandhu as the president of the club here today. GS Sandhu received a total of 639 votes while his main competitor Lt Col JS Panag (Retd) received a total of 202 votes. The vote counting started at around 9 am at the Chandigarh Golf Club.
Simran Singh received 116 votes while Lt Col Harpreet Singh (Retd) managed to receive only two votes in his favour.
“The members have shown their confidence and I will give my best to live up to their expectations. The club has all the modern facilities; all we need is to improve the golf course. We will also ensure transparency in enrolment of new members,” said GS Sandhu.
